Project Name: NPR News Analysis
With NPR’s broad reach and reliability as a news outlet, the organization’s influence on public sentiment is critical in establishing a “more informed public.” We explored the sentiment of what has been said, as well as host speech patterns, on NPR broadcasts spanning over 15 years and created a predictive model of whether a phrase was spoken by an NPR host or guest. This is valuable in an age where reputable organizations have to take an active role in ensuring that their content is not misrepresented.
