Project Name: Fake News Capstone
My team's goal for this project was to identify specific phrases and words within fake news and real news articles, that can be used to accurately predict if a randomly sourced article is filled with fake news or real news. We utilized multiple NLP tools such as NLTK, bigrams, and trigrams to visualize the occurrences of fake news-related words. Our ultimate goal was to build a model that can accurately predict misleading information and warn the general public on what to look out for when reading their news.
I am willing to apply myself to any problem I face in this industry. I seek to conquer complex data-driven problems through team-based and independent work. I understand that this career field is forever evolving which makes it imperative to continuously educate myself on new data science tools and methods.
I am most passionate about discovering the hidden treasure that datasets provide. I enjoy creating detailed visualizations that decode the data in a way that an average individual can comprehend. I am excited to help small businesses or corporations discover the hidden information that can lead to the success of their company.
