My Capstone Project: Pigskin Paydays
In this group project, we gathered data on quarterbacks, including their stats such as total yards thrown, touchdowns, games played, and Super Bowl wins, in order to predict the amount of percentage cap that a quarterback will receive on a new contract. I led the Natural Language Processing component of this project, which aimed to provide insights to the customer as to how the different tiers of quarterbacks are spoken about. I utilized web scraping and HTML parsing methods to acquire the data, tokenization and lemmatization using NLTK and spaCy libraries, and visualization tools (Matplotlib) to chart the results. I also conducted sentiment analysis on the different tiers as well.
