My Capstone Project: Help Wanted: An analysis of how the Covid-19 Pandemic affected the Texas job market.
Doing a time series analysis, we identified which industries were most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in terms of total employment in the state of Texas. We explored if the impact was disproportionate for subgroups of the workforce in these most-affected industries. The subgroups explored were gender, age group, education, race, and ethnicity. And lastly, we characterized the times series data from 2020 using statistics and leveraged these new characterizations to cluster the industries into groupings based on how total employment in the industry was affected.
