My Capstone Project: My Recipe Stockpile

My Recipe Stockpile is a recipe sharing and organization platform. Visitors can use the basic search feature of the site, but signing up for an account will enable users to post their own recipes, as well as create stockpiles which act as organizational folders. The MySQL database is a key element in making the site work with many CRUD operations being performed to deliver the appropriate content to any particular page. This is helped managed by with the Hibernate framework. Thymeleaf and Spring security features were used to help render the correct options and content for profile pages, recipe listings, and navigation. The site encourages sharing with a “Hearting” system for individual recipes which uses JavaScript ajax requests to the Spring controllers in order to instantly update the recipe’s Hearted list of users. Users then have access to these favorites at any time on their profile page. The Filestack API was also implemented so photos could be linked with recipes.

“With technology, I am most passionate about designing and building the best version of a solution, giving the user the highest quality application to suit their needs.
