My Capstone Project: Tech Blues: Improving Mental Health in Tech
My capstone project used real world survey data about mental health in the technology industry. My team performed a rigorous statistical analysis to identify what factors in the workplace have the most impact on an employee’s mental health and workplace performance. Scikit-learn was used to develop a Random Forest Classifier and was tuned with a Grid Search cross validation. Using encoded data, we were able to predict instances of mental health interference in the workplace with an accuracy of 87%. We then determined feature importances by conducting a permutation importance analysis. We used those results to make suggestions on how a company could improve the quality of life and morale for their employees.
