My Capstone Project: Austin Crime Cases Solved Predictor
My team and I analyzes crime data from the city of Austin for the years 2018 through 2021. The indicatiors of whether or not a particular case will be solved. Uses visualizations and statistical analysis we investigate several indicators of clearance such as crime type, location, seasonality, and timelines of the report. Build a predictive classification model using a Naive Bayes algorithm that can predict clearance status on unseen data with accuracy of 89% and ROC-AUC score of .81. This accuracy outperforms the baseline by 11%.
