My Capstone Project: Austin Crime Analysis
The data, from the years 2018 – 2021, was acquired from the city of Austin’s open data portal. The project goal was to develop a deeper understanding of the factors that drive crime in Austin, TX, and uncover indicators of whether or not a particular case will be solved/cleared. The end product was the construction of a predictive classification model using a Naive Bayes algorithm that can predict clearance status on unseen data with an accuracy of 89% and an ROC-AUC Score of .81. This accuracy outperforms the baseline by ~ 11%
