I am currently competing in an open kaggle competition using NLP techniques to grade medical student patient history notes. As part of the licensing exam, medical students interview standard patients and record their medical histories. The grading of these notes is a very labor-intensive process manually performed by other physicians. This project aims to use NLP to capture the diverse way a clinical concept can be expressed and automate this scoring process, ensuring uniform grading and vastly reducing the time and cost to score exams.
