Hire Me Because

Hire me because I bring a unique blend of business acumen, technical skills, and a data-driven mindset. My education in business administration with a minor in finance provides me with a strong understanding of business operations and financial metrics, while my certification in data science equips me with the knowledge and skill to extract, analyze, and interpret complex data. Moreover, my hands-on experience in the field, as demonstrated by the successful projects on customer attrition, wine quality prediction, and property price modeling, proves my ability to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios. My attention to detail, adaptability, and strong communication skills further enhance my suitability for data science roles.

My Capstone Project: Project_Over_Under

Rather than relying on traditional team and individual performance statistics to predict the outcome of an NFL Over/Under Wager, this project seeks to establish a more “natural-cause” basis for explaining and predicting the total points scored in an NFL contest. The umbrella hypothesis is that the total points scored by both teams in an NFL contest is a function of the ability and willingness of players to perform at their peak. Such meta-game factors as weather, perceived importance of game, and game day/time will be utilized towards this end. This model can form the logical foundation of a consumer app geared towards sports bettors. Additionally, sports bookmakers can use this model as part of a software suite designed to evaluate hypothetical “betting action” to determine the optimal Over/Under Line for each contest.

“With technology, I am most passionate about the power and potential of data science. Much like solving puzzles and playing chess, which I greatly enjoy, data science requires strategic thinking, pattern recognition, and forward planning. These games require an ability to analyze a complex structure, anticipate future states, and execute a well-planned strategy – equally important qualities in data science. I love delving into complex data sets, identifying patterns and trends, and leveraging machine learning and statistical techniques to create predictive models, all of which engage my problem-solving instincts in the same way chess does. Furthermore, I am passionate about using technology to communicate data insights effectively. My use of visualization tools like Tableau and Matplotlib helps me translate complex data into understandable visuals. I am eager to continue leveraging these interests and skills to help businesses make informed, data-driven decisions.
