Company Response to Consumer Complaints
Created a Linear Support Vector Classification model to predict a financial company’s response to a consumer’s complaint. Utilized NLP to analyze 3.5 million complaints from the last 12 years to the CFPB to see how the wording of a complaint affects the response. Discovered that the response can vary based on the complaint’s sentiment and the targeted product of the complaint. The model was able to produce an accuracy of 79.4% and a recall of 99.2%.
